WhatsApp  has finally been banned from in China mainland by the country's government, with photo and video sharing, text message and other WhatsApp features are currently not functional. Meanwhile, WhatsApp has previously been blocked but was lifted with few days and this time, it's unclear when the ban will be lifted. The ban of WhatsApp has also affects some other services including normal messaging. It's not hard to get the reasoning for the move WhatsApp surveillance impossible or difficult. However, the move had made all Chinese users to switch to a popular messaging service in the country called WeChat which is owned by Tecent, a Chinese company that often accepts information request by china government. Considering the ban of Facebook, Instagram and even the last Mark Zuckerberg messaging app in China, WhatsApp ban, I think this has likely put a dent for Facebook's plan to expand more services into the country.

From Juliana Taiwo-Obalonye, Abuja The Federal Government has revealed plans to adopt a new approach to recover stolen funds stashed abroad. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, who briefed State House Correspondents at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, yesterday, said the approach was to negotiate directly with the Ministry or Department of Justice of the United States of America or other judicial agencies in the countries where looted funds from Nigeria were being kept, instead of hiring expensive lawyers. He said other countries where the government has been working assiduously to repatriate stolen funds included the United Arab Emirates, Germany and Liechtenstein. Police are looking for two other suspects following an incident that left the rapper in a critical but stable condition. Police are believed to be still looking for two other suspects in connection with the shooting. Hugh Hefner  -- who founded Playboy and turned it into a globally iconic brand -- is dead at 91. Playboy says Hugh died peacefully at home Wednesday, surrounded by loved ones.
